Anja is a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher with a love and specialism in Women’s Health including Pregnancy, Postnatal and remedial Pilates. She completed her Pilates Foundation UK matwork teacher training at London Contemporary Dance School in early 2008, studying with Hana Jones, Sonia Noonan and Susanne Lahusen. It was during this training year that Anja first met Rachel Rafiefar who was a visiting lecturer in Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates and Anja went on to study with Rachel in more depth during 2009 to gain her Pilates in Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates certification with The Thoughtful Body Ltd. During 2010 Anja completed her Pilates Foundation UK Studio Equipment Bridging Course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance with Jessica Moolenaar of Mindful Pilates. Jessica had been Anja’s mentor during her matwork training and in 2013-14, Anja became Assistant Director for Jessica’s Mindful Pilates Matwork Teacher Training for the Pilates Foundation UK and was a guest lecturer in in Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates on the course. In 2017 the Pilates Foundation UK approached Anja to develop, write and teach CPD courses to cover specialist topics such as ‘Pilates in the Fourth Trimester’ and a new teacher training certification in Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates for already qualified Pilates teachers. Anja teamed up with her brilliant colleague Grace Lillywhite to deliver this programme together. Anja has an extensive experience working with women during their pregnancy, postnatal years and beyond. She has studied with Janet Balaskas of the Active Birth Centre and was so excited to meet Carolyne Anthony to attend her fantastic training courses. Anja is thrilled to join Carolyne’s teaching faculty of The Centre for Women’s Fitness and is looking forward to continuing to learn, share and develop her skills, both in her actual client work as well as when nurturing new teachers who’d like to delve into this wonderful work.
