Francine started teaching movement in 2005 as a certified Therapeutic Yoga Instructor. The following year she moved to Uruguay, where she met Monica Passaro, a Polestar trained Pilates instructor and studio owner. Francine completed a five month internship with her and studied from Joseph Pilates’ texts. In 2006 she returned to the states and completed the Body Arts and Science International Training Certification and became PMA certified.

In 2009, Francine met Carolyne, director of the Center for Women’s Fitness, and completed her first Pre/Postnatal Pilates Certification, which she audited again in 2011. Francine immediately identified with the course. It combined her love of therapeutic exercise, science, and the respect she has a woman’s ever-changing body. Since that first certification she has had the privilege to not only apply the training to several prenatal clients but also to other women in different stages of life.

Francine has a B.S. in Biopsychology from University of California at Santa Barbara and is currently working towards her M.S. in Kinesiology at Cal State Northridge. She is also a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor. Francine feels blessed to join the Center as faculty. Being a part of an international community of Pilates instructors dedicated to improving women’s health allows Francine to bring her love for movement, science, and teaching to certification courses worldwide.
