Lisa is an experienced, multi-dimensional movement and wellness professional who exchanged the world of finance for the universe of the human body in 2005.
After two years of Pilates training with Carolyne Anthony, culminating in her first comprehensive certification in 2007, Lisa expanded her horizons with Pre and Post Natal Pilates training. While learning about the intricacies of the pelvis, she gained a thirst for further knowledge and self-improvement.
This spirit drove Lisa to complete Polestar comprehensive studio training, and to add a further comprehensive Pilates certification with Balanced Body. In 2010, she travelled to Hong Kong to assist Carolyne in her Pre and Post Natal Pilates teacher training, as part of Balanced Body’s “Pilates on Tour” programme. For Lisa, it was an enriching experience to broaden her horizons globally.
Further inspired, Lisa continued her movement journey with certifications in the Gyrotonic Expansion System(R) – in Gyrotonic(R) in 2010 and Gyrokinesis(R) 2011, followed by further training in this system’s specialised equipment between 2013 and 2019.
In 2018, Lisa expanded her skillset in exciting new therapeutic directions, by adding Bowen certification (2021) to help clients achieve complete body wellness.
Indeed, Lisa continues, even after 16 years, to be a keen student of the human body and its intricacies. She has assisted a wide range of clients across all ages including pre and post natal clients, those with hypermobility, spondylosis, scoliosis, diastasis recti, cerebral palsy, as well as those going through life changes, such as growing teenagers and menopause. She sees learning as a lifelong journey, and constantly seeks to enhance her professional knowledge to help her clients feel – and be – better.
She has been a member of The Center For Women’s Fitness teaching faculty since 2017, and is presently involved in developing a teacher training course that contains many of the valuable insights she’s gleaned over the years.
Lisa loves all aspects of teaching, and sees it as a collaborative, experiential journey between her students and herself. As a lifelong student, she is immensely grateful for the gift of great teachers. She aspires to inspire her students in the same way, as they, too undertake their own journeys.
