Description
Diastasis Recti Recovery
CAM’s diastasis recti course explores a comprehensive fascia-based and nervous-system-informed approach to the assessment and rehabilitation of abdominal wall separation. Developed from over two decades of research, this course integrates the Carolyne Anthony Method’s four foundational principles—Regulate, Release, Realign, Restore™—to address both the structural and systemic factors contributing to diastasis recti. Rather than a singular solution, this course presents diastasis recti recovery as a process that restores balance, function, and confidence to the entire core system and beyond.
What You’ll Learn
Diastasis Recti Recovery is suitable for movement educators seeking an online or in-person course that blends theory and practice. This curriculum emphasizes gentle, functional, and restorative programming to support physical repair, nervous system regulation, and myofascial reintegration. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the neuromyofascial anatomy of the abdominal wall, pelvic floor and thorax and the interrelationship of the breath with movement and the importance of pressure management in recovery.
This in-person diastasis recti course will allow you to:
- Define diastasis recti and understand its anatomical, fascial, and functional components.
- Identify contributing factors such as fascial tension, breath dysfunction, pressure mismanagement, and poor movement patterns and dysregulation of the central nervous system.
- Conduct safe and informed assessment protocols for diastasis recti, including observation of posture, breathing, fascial tension, and linea alba responsiveness.
- Apply the Carolyne Anthony Method’s four principles (Regulate, Release, Realign, Restore™) to create integrated recovery programs.
- Implement movement progressions that retrain fascial tensioning and muscular coordination without over-recruitment or bracing.
- Integrate breathwork and gentle sensory input to support neuromuscular reintegration.
- Educate clients about the continuum of recovery, emphasizing self-awareness, patience, and emotional healing alongside physical repair.
