Taught by Audrey D’cotta
Description
The CAM Diastasis Recti Recovery Specialist Certification is a comprehensive, layered program designed to educate movement professionals in the intelligent support of healing diastasis recti. This certification integrates four core areas of study:
- Sensa Ball®Training introduces sensory awareness, nervous system regulation, and myofascial responsiveness. These concepts become the baseline for how movement is perceived, cued, and experienced throughout the certification.
- Rocking to Release builds upon this foundation through rhythmic, somatic movement that further regulates the nervous system, enhances fascial hydration, and restores natural movement pathways. The principles of ease, rhythm, and internal listening are carried forward into all mat-based work.
- Support Your Floorâ„¢ provides an integrated, whole-body framework for pelvic floor function. Rather than isolating the pelvic floor, this work connects breath, hips, spine, abdominals, and fascia. These principles underpin movement and are essential for safe load management, pressure regulation, and recovery.
- Diastasis Recti Recovery frames the abdominal wall as part of a dynamic pressure and tension system, rather than an isolated condition. Quiet breathing, thoracic organization, pelvic floor integration, and fascial adaptability are layered across mat and equipment..
What You’ll Learn
This diastasis recti certification is suitable for fitness, yoga, and pilates instructors looking to successfully guide their clients through the recovery process using a comprehensive, holistic framework. Participants will move beyond rules and restrictions and develop the ability to respond to the body in front of them. This curriculum is intentionally structured so that each module reinforces and reframes the others, no single course stands alone. Instead, participants develop a progressively richer understanding of how systems interact and how movement must adapt across time, condition, and life stage. Foundational concepts are introduced, revisited, and refined across modules, allowing for deeper understanding through repetition, experience, and evolving context. The result is not prescriptive programming, but confident, adaptable teaching rooted in clear clinical reasoning.
This in-person course will allow you to:
- Define diastasis recti and understand its anatomical, fascial, and functional components.
- Identify contributing factors such as fascial tension, breath dysfunction, pressure mismanagement, and poor movement patterns and dysregulation of the central nervous system.
- Conduct safe and informed assessment protocols for diastasis recti, including observation of posture, breathing, fascial tension, and linea alba responsiveness.
- Apply the Carolyne Anthony Method’s four principles (Regulate, Release, Realign, Restore®to create integrated recovery programs.
- Implement movement progressions that retrain fascial tensioning and muscular coordination without over-recruitment or bracing.
- Integrate breathwork and gentle sensory input to support neuromuscular reintegration.
- Educate clients about the continuum of recovery, emphasizing self-awareness, patience, and emotional healing alongside physical repair.
